Chris Hopper is a Compliance Specialist and Research Assistant for the Government Strategies practice of Taylor English Decisions. Known for his extensive research and compliance skills, Mr. Hopper is well-versed in corporate governance, legal research, and public policy matters. His diligent and proactive approach to research provides organizations with high-impact information which allows for rapid responses to unforeseen issues. His main focus will be ensuring that Taylor English Decisions and its clients comply with outside regulatory requirements as well as internal policies when conducting business. He understands that compliance involves both an ethical component and a pragmatic component which are crucial in assisting clients manage risk, maintain a positive reputation, and avoid preventable lawsuits. Mr. Hopper brings the research and compliance experience necessary to assist our clients’ ability to rapidly respond to ever-changing regulatory and compliance environments.
Prior to joining Taylor English Decisions, Mr. Hopper worked at a real estate law firm where he gained practical experience in civil litigation by assisting in trial preparation, hearings, and closings. While at the firm, he concentrated his time on commercial real estate matters.
Additionally, Mr. Hopper served as a Legal Assistant to the General Counsel for LakePoint Sports, a 1,300-acre mixed-use development that has become the premier sports vacation destination in the country. There he provided legal support to multiple departments within the company. His responsibilities ranged from researching federal, state and local laws to drafting critical corporate governance documents. He coordinated cross-department projects such as investment capital raises and government grant requests.
